Hi, Friends, Investors and Fellow Business Builders!

This blog post is the third in a series created by one of my business coaches named Dan Kennedy. I like this one especially because as many of us try to focus on tactics to make more money—HOWEVER the truth to making more money has more to do with what we think than what we do! Enjoy this little shot in the arm!

Mastering Your Inner Game

We’re going to talk about the inner game of building your business. I believe that the inner game is simply all-important. “The inner game” is a new term for a classic idea explained many different times, many different ways by virtually every success educator, and even philosophers.

In the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill reveals the secret using the words, “thoughts are things.” Dennis Waitley has worked with U.S. astronauts and Olympic athletes on their inner games. Author Tim Galloway explores the ideas of his books, The Inner Game of Golf, The Inner Game of Tennis and The Inner Game of Selling.

Interestingly, there is a never-ending connection between the inner game in sport and the inner game in business, allowing experts like Waitley, Galloway, ex-quarterback Fran Tarkenton and golfer Arnold Palmer, among others, to step back and forth between expounding on success techniques in the athletic and business worlds.

In all cases, these people speak much more about attitudes than aptitudes for a good reason. Surveys, studies and research consistently reaffirm that 85% of your success will depend on attitudinal factors, 15% on aptitude.

Yet in your formal education and in most continuing education, the emphasis is on the opposite – 15% on attitude, 85% on aptitude.

Certainly technical knowledge and skills are important. In your profession, you must deliver excellence based on your staying up to date in techniques, products, materials and ideas.

However, such excellence alone will never build a successful, growing, profitable business. The excellence that will is an excellence created and sustained in your own mind. This is the most difficult, least tangible aspect of building your business that we’ll ever talk about, but it is also probably the most important.

Yeah, but what is it?

So what is the inner game? The way I see it, the inner game can be broken down into four major components:

Self esteem

Self image

Self confidence

Self discipline

Quality in these four areas is a necessary foundation to personal and professional success.

Self Esteem

Self Esteem is essentially your feelings of worth. How much success do you deserve? How much money should you make? How much is your time worth?

Here, briefly, are seven ideas for strengthening self-esteem:

Establish worthwhile, meaningful goals and values.

Take massive action to get your own financial house in order if it isn’t now. Reduce debt, bring expenses under income, and invest every single month.

Give yourself recognition for each and every accomplishment.

Manage your time productively. Procrastination and disorganization rob many people of their self-esteem.

Associate with positive-minded, happy people who encourage and motivate you. Don’t hang out with folks who are negative, unhappy, critical or jealous.

Continually acquire new know-how in you profession and in the areas of business, sales and communication.

Regularly invest in improving your office and home environments, tools and equipment, wardrobe and other external things that impact on your attitudes.

Self Image

Self-image is how you see yourself; it’s who you think you are. Your self-image is controlled mostly by self-imposed limits. Very few people ever perform beyond those self-imposed limits.

A salesman whose father never earned more than $25,000 a year in his life may well see himself as a $25,000 a year guy. And he will subconsciously screw up the opportunities to earn more that come his way.

In the financial area, the controversial Reverend Ike calls this a money rejection syndrome, and I am convinced that such a thing definitely exists. One man I know, who made over $100 million in his business in its first three years from scratch, had gone broke in business several times before. After the three years of remarkable success, he said, “Making $100 million is about the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Believing it could happen to me was the hard part that took 20 years.”

Your self-image was created and is sustained through self talk, the use of affirmations – and that is also the method you can use to alter and modify your self image, literally as you wish.

I call the process self image goal setting, because most people who set goals set only “to get” and “to have” goals; they fail to set “to be” goals. I encourage you to balance your approach to goal setting by including some self-image modification.

Self Discipline

Self-Disciple, the fourth component of the inner game, is quite possibly the most important.

Success lecturer Jim Rohn says that most people do not associate lack of discipline with lack of success.

Most people think of failure as one earth-shattering event, such as a company going out of business or a home being foreclosed on. This, however, Jim Rohn says, is how failure happens.

Failure is rarely the result of some isolated event; rather, it is a consequence of a long list of accumulated little failures, which happen as a result of too little discipline. I agree. I find that most people understandably tend to look everywhere but in the mirror for the sources of their failures as well as the victories.

I’m here to tell you it’s not the town you’re in, not your location, not the economy, not the weather, not your competitors – it’s your own discipline that makes the difference between excellence or mediocrity, between getting by or getting rich.

It’s interesting to observe professionals. I often say to my associates, “Let me watch the professional’s behavior before, during and after the seminar, and I’ll guess his annual income within a few thousand dollars.” It’s actually pretty easy to do.

Jim Rohn says that discipline is the bridge between thought and accomplishment.

I’d encourage you to take the self-discipline challenge very seriously.

Select those areas that you know are your weakest links – timely paperwork, punctuality, daily self-improvement study, being happy and enthusiastic first thing in the morning, whatever your personal stumbling blocks are – and apply new, tough, demanding disciplines to yourself in those areas.

You’ll find that success in these particular areas of your day-to-day life will roll over into greater success in all parts of your life.

For example, let’s look at the ultimate game players – professional football players. A pro ball player knows that every single moment of his on-the-job performance is recorded on film, to be replayed and reviewed later in stop-action slow motion, for critique by his superiors and co-workers.

If your day was filmed and reviewed, how would you feel during the replay?

Of course, the professional football players who have to put up with this sort of thing are highly paid.

Yes, the inner game stuff is tough. If being a big success were easy, everybody would be one. You’ve got to decide what you really want to be, do, have, accomplish – and decide whether or not you’re willing to adhere to the disciplines necessary to get it.

In order to have the opportunity to accomplish virtually any goals you honestly desire, you must accept the related responsibility for everything you get.

Gratitude As A Marketing Strategy

Many years ago, I took over a business with mammoth collection problems: almost all of its customers had open accounts and paid their bills ten to sixty days late (except those who didn’t pay at all). We quickly instituted a number of corrective measures, including tighter credit controls and policies, interests charges, a sequence of past-due notices, and collection calls. However, we also instituted a positive strategy. We started sending hand-signed thank you notes for prompt payment to anybody who did pay on time…those who were almost on time…and even late payers who responded to a past-due notice. Guess what happened? Those customers who received thank you notes became better paying customers.

I know a Doctor who started a procedure of giving fresh, long-stemmed red roses to his women patients who showed up for their appointment on time, or paid their bills on time, or referred another patient. “Funny thing,” he told me. “We no longer have patients missing appointments. Our collections have improved. Referrals are up. And, some guys are asking how they can get roses, too!

Here are a few specific ideas you might adopt, as ways of saying thank you:

Keep customers’ birthdays on file and send cards and/or mail gifts.

Send Thanksgiving cards or letters.

Make it a habit to drop a personal thank-you note in the mail each day, to at least one customer.

Send a gift certificate or discount certificate to a customer who makes an unusually large purchase.

Host a “Customer Appreciation Event” – a Christmas party, a backyard bar-b que.

Have an occasional closed-to-the-public, preferred customer sale.

Drop in personally on your best customers, with a surprise gift.

I figured it up just the other day; last year, personally and for my various businesses combined, I signed checks for well over one million dollars, in payment for goods and services to all sorts of people and companies. And I don’t care what anybody says – a million bucks is a lot of money. Yet, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of the recipients of all that money who have expressed any gratitude in any formal kind of way. Only one of them found out and recognized my birthday.

Just saying “thanks” is a big step ahead of the competition today.

Note: As my way of saying “THANKS” for being a loyal subscriber and supporter, I’ve arranged a great money-making gift for you worth $633.91.
I’ll be posting Dan’s wisdom here on my blog every once in a while so you can get a glimpse into what I’m learning and studying with Dan. I hope you’ll find these posts useful in some meaningful way. So…On to Issue #1!

Get Out Of the Alligator Pit At Least
An Hour Every Day

Recently, two business partners came to visit me, looking for magical help with their host of terrible problems. Without dragging you through all the details, the bottom line: they have no terrible problems. They have a few minor problems. But, overall, they’re in pretty good shape. Theirs is a business that peaked at about 2.5 million, dipped to 1.6, but is now back up to 1.8, may break 2 this year “as is”, has lost some markets but gained different opportunities, and is satisfactorily if not excitingly profitable as compared to industry norms. But to hear these two, you’d think the sky was falling.

The blunt truth: they need a therapist, not a marketing consultant. Actually, they need to start with a very simple but important strategy….

One of the Eternal Truths that I quote in one of my books is: when you are up to your ass in alligators, it’s difficult to remember that your original objective was to drain the swamp. It’s easy to get so caught up in managing all the problem parts of a business that you never do anything else. And that’s a sure path to where these two partners are now: burn out. I could give ‘em the all-time killer sales letter, the best marketing campaign ever devised, and it wouldn’t do them much good…when they go to the office each day wishing they weren’t there, fatigued from first thing on, going through the motions, viewing their activities as drudgery…and end the day without any sense of measurable progress toward meaningful goals…their ‘walking dead’ aura pervades ever nook and cranny, every employee, every customer, every aspect of their business. It’s the psychic equal of trying to attract a lot of customers to a restaurant that smells like rotting, burning flesh.

Prescription: each and every day, keep a pre-set, inviolate appointment with yourself or with one or two key people, out of sight and hearing of the alligator pit, no matter how many alligators there are or how hungry they are, to do nothing but focus and work on positive, productive plans and strategies that look to the future, that are linked to goals and progress, that you can be excited and optimistic about. Simplistically, this is a means of maintaining perspective. Even better, add taking one action, getting one thing done every day, no matter what, that you know moves you forward, toward positive goals. Go home if you must knowing you spent 7 hours and 58 minutes in the alligator pit, but at least you found 2 minutes to put something in motion that will improve things.

From: My Surgical Bed at Christiana Hospital (Newark, DE)

Sunday night, 1/15/2011 – 7:00 PM EST

Re: Gold Calls/Other Operations Temporarily On Hiatus…

Greetings from the beautiful 2nd Floor of the Surgical Services Department of Christiana Hospital. I’ve been here since Tuesday night 1/10/2011 at 10:55 PM after having intense abdominal pain and nausea.

Now, mind you, I have an extremely high pain threshold, so by the time I headed to an Emergency Room, I was already in radical and mind-bending pain. I had already been suffering from “stones” passing from my gall bladder through my pancreas since Friday, January 6th.

I thought that it was just severe heartburn from some Chinese food I ate in the “hood” (Kensington and Allegheny) for lunch. I sucked it up and called it “gas cramps” for a few days until I finally broke down and made a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday afternoon for Wednesday morning, which I missed as I was already in the Emergency Room by Tuesday night.

On Wednesday evening at 9PM, 1/11/2011, after waiting the entire day for Trauma patients to have their surgeries, I had my own emergency surgery to have my Gall Bladder removed. During surgery (which is allegedly usually pretty routine) the surgeon had to switch from a laparoscopic procedure to an all out “open” surgery. That means they had to make an incision about 6 inches (13 staples) in length along with 3 other 1 inch incisions and a 2 inch drainage port, in order to get to my gall bladder.

When the surgeon finally got that far, he found that from years of diabetes complications, the gall bladder and my pancreas had sort of “fused together” from years of scar tissue build up on both organs. The two organs were in fact, glued together. Separating one organ from the next resulted in a few “cuts” to my pancreas kicking off an acute case of extremely painful pancreatitis.

Frankly, I’ve never felt pain like that before and hope to avoid ever experiencing it again! Along with pancreatitis pain comes a lot of nausea, vomiting and cramping. This is what made it difficult for the doctors, specialists and surgeons to realize that during my “routine surgery” they had accidentally cut a bile duct in my liver! The bile (which is an enzyme used to digest food) was literally spilling into my body cavity and eating everything in its path. By this point I hadn’t eaten anything since Tuesday and felt “toxic” to say the least. The doctors felt pretty certain, all day Thursday, that it was just pain from surgery and that everything would just “work itself out.” Well, nothing worked itself out and by Friday (the 13th) I was back under anesthesia with a breathing tube so they could use a scope to be able to see through to my liver, find the leak they now “suspected” and insert a stent to fix it.

It gets pretty blurry from here because I’ve been on massive doses of pain killers since, with a morphine drip plus a “pain button”, along with IV narcotics (Percocet, and Vicoden) and in spite of all that–a blinding amount of pain.

The surgeon said he “fused” the leakage in my liver, effectively closing off that bile duct, which will change the way that I eat (and what) forever as my body will no longer have the ability to break down fatty foods as it once did.

Three days later, my lower bowel seems to have started to work again–not without it’s own pile of pains and agonies to go along with it. The bloating feels like its pushing out on the 20 staples that will be a part of me for the next 10 days or so, as I stay on a clear diet.

I will be discharged from the hospital in the morning (Monday, 1/16) and put on strict bed rest for at least 10 days. This will put a little damper on some of our activities together. Until further notice:

1. Free Gold Coaching Calls will be suspended.
2. Platinum Calls will be suspended.
3. Responses from email support lines will be radically reduced/delayed.
4. If I’m helping you with a project, feel free to email with status updates, but please don’t expect an immediate response.

I do have Chrissy helping with certain things, i.e. she’s typing this email, handling Facebook:
http://www.Facebook.com/relifestyle
and Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/RELifestyle
and she will graciously be coordinating a few things for you such as Appraisals, Contractor Quotes and scheduling calls for me when I am finally able to talk personally.

You can contact Chrissy at chrissy@livetherealestatelifestyle.com and she will filter/screen/deliver messages for me over the next few weeks.

Please utilize the resources that are available at this time and we’ll do our level best to keep providing you help along your Real Estate travels.

You’ll be glad about this.

Just logged into my facebook and got this nice message from Roberta Gilmour from Chicago. It reads …

Hi Jim,

My name is Roberta from Chicago.

I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids, one is 22 months old, while the other is just a month old. For financial independence and stability I intend to start a real estate business in 2012.

I bought your book a few months back. Getting started has been quite challenging, but I religiously listen to your radio programs which I download on my phone. I listen to them over and over again.

I have no prior experience in real estate and I have no experience in contracting. My credit is shaky and I have very little money with raising two little children. However, I want to make a success of this new found love and also to afford a good life for my children.

How do I become a success in the real estate investing business?

Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

Roberta
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -

I thought about what to write back to Roberta… I was going to send her the link for my live weekend training program. But then I thought to myself, “Who am I kidding?”

A young single mom trying to make it on her own sending me $2,500 for a weekend training? Yes it’s worth every penny (students say it’s worth twice that) and sure it will probably change her financial life forever…but how could she ever afford that?

I don’t think so…
In the meantime, this morning, my family is getting ready for Thanksgiving. And boy! Do we have a lot to be grateful for!

And then the voice in my head said… “Give!”

I’m getting hungry just thinking about all the leftovers!

I can smell the aroma from the stock that will become the gravy and the stuffing and the…

And the voice got louder… “Give! It’s Thanksgiving, Jim!”

And then it dawned on me! Instead of telling this young mother of two that she should try to save up the money for my weekend training, I should practically GIVE her my weekend training, coupled with a year’s worth of intensive hand-holding and coaching covering only my basic costs to deliver the program!

Help this young mother out.

And the voice got louder.

It began to chant . . .

Give . . Give . . Give

Give . . Give . . Give

I said . . .

Okay!

Give ALL of your subscribers and members your $2,500 Real Estate Training for almost free.

And finally, I could take the voice no longer.

When the idea hit me like freight train.

And I began to relent to its powerful giving message and chant.

So I wrote back to Roberta, as I am writing back to you my subscriber and friend.

“Roberta, I would suggest you take this gift from me before it’s too late.”

Reply back and in the subject line in ALL CAPS type out . . .

GIFT ME YOUR $2,500 THANKSGIVING TRAINING SPECIAL FOR FREE

And I’ll gift you my $2,500 Live Training Weekend, covering only my costs!

You can pay me back by writing to me after you make a success in the real estate investing world.

This system is everything I know about making money with real estate.

Feel free to pass this message on to someone in need and to other single moms with young children.

Forward this e-mail to a friend, a family member that’s out of work, or even your co-workers.

Happy Thanksgiving to you Roberta from Jim Canale.

And to all of my subscribers, I’m making this offer available to you too, through Nov, 28th at 11:59 PM.

All you have to do is reply now

And in the subject line type out in ALL CAPS . . .

GIFT ME YOUR $2,500 THANKSGIVING TRAINING SPECIAL FOR ALMOST FREE

P.S. If you want to know more about my this Intensive Training and yearlong Coaching Program go to:

http://www.realestatelifestyle.com/training

But don’t buy it!

It’s almost free for you–my gift to you as a small way to give back this Thanksgiving year.

Once I get your reply, I’ll send you the link personally and directly so you can take part in the training weekend in Philadelphia, PA on December 10th and 11th.

Sincerely,

Jim Canale and the REL Team

Attention All Real Estate Investors…I am writing my next book tentatively titled: Your First Year As A Real Estate Investor: What To Look Out For, How To Get Started and How To Make Maximum Money, Right Now! And I would like YOU to write it with me!

I am looking for *REAL* Real Estate Investors to contribute their own stories of their very first deals, including pictures of the property, copies of checks, your numbers, the EMOTIONS you were feeling, and the outcome–positive or negative and especially what you learned from the process of getting that first deal under your belt.

The goal of the book is to help new Real Estate Investors to steer clear of the mistakes that we’ve already made, get their emotions under control, remove a little fear (by showing them that we’ve all felt that way, too) and to offer a little instruction and guidance.

I am going to ask a few of my well regarded (and Real Deal) Investor/Trainer friends to participate in this project, as well. Some of them will say, “No, thank you.” and that’s okay. However some will say, “Yes!” I want to help out some new Real Estate Investors with the story of MY first deal, too!”. Your story will be included along with some of these BIG names in the Training and Coaching industry and NOW is your chance to shine alongside of them!

I invite you to send an email to jim@realestatelifestyle.com with the subject line “My 1st Year!”. Please include your name, your city and state, your telephone number and a brief synopsis of your story. I will personally be reaching out to EVERYONE that submits an inquiry about this project.

Some further information:

- You will NOT have to write and edit your story (unless you choose to). We will set up a mutually agreeable time for a telephone interview and we will record the call. I’ll interview you and we will discuss your story conversationally. Easy, right?

- You will need to provide details (proof) of the deal. It doesn’t matter if you still own the property or not. We just need to be able to verify some of the facts of your story. Maybe a closing statement, a picture of you in front of the property, a check you got back at closing.

- It doesn’t matter how long ago you did your first deal. I want stories from relative newbies as well as those of you who do this every day for a living.

- It doesn’t matter if you did well on the deal, or you got your ass handed to you. I’m interested in the emotional story as well, as it is rarely addressed in Real Estate Investing books.

- There is NO cash compensation for participating – HOWEVER you will have that great, warm, fuzzy feeling that comes from knowing that you’ve helped a new Investor out with your story. This book will mostly be GIVEN AWAY as a labor of love, at my personal expense. Of course you will get a copy of the finished product – signed by all of the contributing authors with name recognition. You will also have the opportunity to get extra books that you can use as collateral pieces with your friends, family and clients.

I am also planning a few surprises (that will help you build your Real Estate Empire) along the way that will be FREE to YOU!

Again, to participate, simply send an email to jim@realestatelifestyle.com with the subject line “My 1st Year!”. Please include your name, your city and state, your telephone number and a brief synopsis of your story. I will personally be reaching out to EVERYONE that submits an inquiry about this project.

I hope you’ll participate!

Best Regards,

Last week’s blog post was met with great enthusiasm by many of you, so I thought I’d expand here by exploring a related subject that goes largely ignored by many of the “Success Gurus”.

Anyone who has read Trump’s books (or Robert Kiyosaki’s, for that matter) or attends his talks might be disappointed that he doesn’t ever outline a *specific road map* to become wealthy using real estate, as he has.

That’s because “Real Estate” in and of itself will NOT lead to success and happiness—which is really the end result that you are looking for. It’s following Trump’s advice to find your passion that will do that.

“Once you do find your passion”, says Trump, “the money will follow.” Further, Trump says, “It may sound simple, but I have become a billionaire many times over by sticking to this simple philosophy.”

So what IS your passion? How CAN you serve others in pursuing it?

Real Estate is one of the vehicles that I have chosen. And for good purpose. First, there’s a huge audience of people that need help there! So many foreclosures, so many troubles, so many people with families in need–all caused by banks, greed, unemployment and shoddy government! These are people just like you and I and frankly, they need our help!

So whether it’s saving a house from a predatory lender, helping a single mom find a place to raise a family, or providing an aging couple with a place to retire in their Golden Years—I can help! All of these people need our help, and the government and the banks have all turned their backs on them. That is unacceptable to me!

People ask me why I do my Real Estate Lifestyle Trainings and Coaching Programs and the answer is simple! I am creating my own ARMY of the willing that want to help others to accomplish the safety and security of the things that I’ve listed above…

“Provide safe, comfortable, affordable housing for Working Class people that need it, want it and are willing to pay for it.” That is the Mission of my Real Estate Investing company and everyone in the company—from Real Estate Agents and Bankers to Property Managers and Plumbers can recite it. It is our unifying statement and reason for existence as a Team…namely, to serve others!

If you’d like to join our ARMY then check out this site for more information:
=> http://www.tinyurl.com/reltrain
I had a Coach that once that said, “Jim, if you’re not happy with your income then you need to take a look at how many people you are serving. Serve them better and you will make more money. The two things -income and service- are inextricably linked!”

So now I ask you…
- Are you happy with your income?
- Are you following your REAL PASSION?
- Does following your passion serve enough people?

I know that Real Estate is not for everyone. In fact, it may not be for you. But I’ll tell you this…Today there is an opportunity to serve millions of people in many different ways that can ONLY be done in Real Estate and by Real Estate Investors. And where there is massive opportunity, there is the opportunity to serve others, thereby serving yourself and your family financially—with life changing effect!

You just need the right System, Strategy and Coach and it can all be possible. Click the URL above now and find out what it’s all about and how we can help.

Your Real Estate Success Coach,

Hello Fellow Success Seekers!

Yes, it’s true! Donald Trump has been sitting on the secret to great wealth for years. Would you like to know his secret?

Trump says, “Don’t think about how you can make money. Instead think about what you can produce or what service you can offer that is valuable and useful to the people in your community.”

You see…it’s NOT about chasing money…Instead, it’s about serving others!

Right now, at this point in history, there are literally millions of people—good people—people just like us—that need OUR help! They need help saving their homes, relocating to new ones, getting out of debt, fixing their credit, even young couples trying to find and buy their first homes!

That’s where folks like you and I come in—Real Estate Investors!

As Trump said, it is the job of the Real Estate Investor to provide one of the most valuable and useful products and services to our communities—and for doing so we are provided with enormous benefits ourselves; free time, cashflow, tax benefits, safety and security, in an otherwise hostile financial climate.

Think about it…What real benefit can you provide to the world just dumping your money into your 401(k) and hoping for the best? What community do you serve, besides the Mutual Fund Managers and the Financial Planners? What REAL value do you provide to your community buying 10 more shares of Apple Computer or another ounce of Silver?

None! That is the answer, my friend…and that is exactly why you are on the financial roller coaster that you’re on right now. In good times as well as bad, people always NEED safe, comfortable and affordable housing—and that’s where you come in!

- It doesn’t matter if you are sitting on a mountain of money or you have hardly any at all!
- It doesn’t matter if you have 40 hours a week to devote to Real Estate or just 40 minutes a day!
- It doesn’t matter if you have a college education or a G.E.D.
- It doesn’t matter if you have an 850 credit score or if it’s the same as your shoe size!

It just matters if you are willing to learn. To put in the time, effort and energy. It only matters if you have the PASSION to get it started for you and your family!

I have many years of experience training people how to do it, and I’m here to tell you that YOU can do it, too. And I’ll show you how! Head on over to:

=> http://www.tinyurl.com/reltrain

And I’ll show you how!

I received an email this week from a man asking me, “I’ve taken a lot of seminars, read a lot of books and listened/watched countless hours of audio and video that teaches real estate. My problem is no longer knowledge…my problem is getting over the FEAR! How do you recommend that I finally get over this and get started?”

Honestly I get a similar email at least 3 or 4 times a week from people all over the world! From New York City all the way to Asia and the Phillipines. You are not alone in feeling this same way!

My answer is simple…and it’s not just another dumb cliché, either.

But first I want you to understand that I know exactly how you feel–because I’ve been there, too! In fact, I describe this sickening and paralyzingly feeling in my book Live The Real Estate Lifestyle, where I share my own story of getting started!

I would go to class after class, spending weekend after weekend and thousands an thousands of dollars for more information. Yes! I always learned *something* from the great teachers that lead these courses. And I’d be really psyched to get started, to achieve, to chase down my Financial Freedom with a vengeance. At times I’d be so excited that I couldn’t sleep!

And then Monday morning would come…And like many of you, I’d have absolutely NO IDEA where to start. I would be so overwhelmed and overcome with fear that I felt like I’d be better off just doing nothing… At least then I wouldn’t make a mistake!

And don’t get me wrong…I also availed myself to plenty of paid Coaching or Mentoring programs, as well. I had a support center I could call once I got a deal and Coaching calls that I could dial into to listen to more training. I even went to the local Real Estate Investor Association meetings…but I was always afraid that I’d feel like an ass or embarrass myself by asking stupid questions. Frankly, I was riddled with fear and doubt–but one day, that all turned around for me…

And it happened in the blink of an eye! I made a conscious decision that I would try to overcome my fears–I resolved that I would do something…anything to get rid of this fear and start going after the life I *really* wanted! One step at a time!

So what I did was write down each logical step of what I had to do.

1. Call a Real Esate Agent
2. Learn how to estimate repairs
3. Walk through properties
4. Estimate repairs
5. Make offers…

You get the point, right?

After I wrote down my list I sought out a few friends that wanted to do Real Estate, too. Rank newbies, just like me. Of course, I also found that there were a few that were just “stuck” or stopped in their investing and wanted to “get back to basics” and reboot, so to speak. Out of this group of people I created what I now call my “Peer Accountability Group”. People just like me that would help to push me, were willing to share experiences and mistakes in an environment that would be free from judgement. We would help each other, do it together, learn together, hold each other accountable and celebrate every “WIN” together!

But since most of us didn’t know what we were doing yet, we were really just “the blind leading the blind”. We floundered around for a few days and that’s when it hit me!

If we could find a successful investor that would show us what he was doing–taking us from project to project, showing us what he did day in and day out, we could all just “copy-cat” what he was doing, borrow his routine–and end up with similar results to his. So that’s what we did!

And the operative word is “did”. We did everything that he did. Called Realtors, got listings, walked through houses, talked to contractors, estimated repairs and in a short time, the whole group of us were making money!

Our fear had naturally subsided and when it came back we’d just talk to each other when our Peer Accountability Group met every few weeks. We’d also call each other on the phone or send emails to each other for that much needed “pat on the back” when we did something right! There were no “stupid” questions, just what ended up to be a handful of us having fun doing Real Estate and becoming very good friends that made lots of money together!

And that’s exactly what I’m proposing that you and I do…TOGETHER!

You see, I’m putting together a small group of folks (just 10) on September 10th and 11th that will personally work with me and my investing partner Joe Hurst to start another Peer Accountability Group. We’ll implement all the great information that you’ve learned and we’ll give you the new stuff that’s working in today’s market. We’ll do that by showing you–in the field–what we are doing, how we pick properties, how we estimate the repairs, how we calculate offers, how we make them and how we make money with the deal! On Monday morning you won’t have to guess what to do…we’ll meet and put together your Personal Implementation Plan based on your needs, abilities, goals and dreams. One on one. Then you’ll get to work–just like your peers–doing the real estate investing business! Joe and I will coach you and your peers will hold you accountable…just like your buddies do at work or at the gym

Everyone understands the concept of how an apple can grow into an orchard, right? If not, here’s the short version:

A man eats an apple and plants the seeds. The seed (with a little care) then grows into a tree which produces more apples. Then those apples are eaten, the seeds are planted and those seeds produce many more trees which in turn produce even more apples! Simple, right? Of course this was a third or fourth grade lesson for many of us…

My question for you then is how come we don’t follow the same NATURAL process when it comes to money? All we seem to do is eat the money! (Figuratively speaking of course…you shouldn’t eat money—it has lots of germs on it!) It’s just like we do with the apple we buy! We eat the apple and throw the core away. Then we’ll buy another apple and throw that core away after we eat it. And the cycle goes on and on. Now imagine using only 70 cents of every dollar you earn and throwing the rest of it away… Many people are actually doing this; spending money it on silly crap and really throwing the rest away!

HERE’S THE LESSON:
Let’s take the same process for the apple orchard and apply it to money. Suppose you get paid (after taxes) $5,000 per month; you use some of that money to live on and the rest for planting into Cashflow Real Estate. That first property produces more money and then you invest that into more investments. Within a few short years you’ll have an orchard of assets producing real fruit (MONEY) and you are out of the rat race!

We call it derivative investing. The original money produces a house which produces money, which produces more houses which produces money… Each time the asset produces another asset, it takes less and less of your effort to produce dollars, until you no longer have to produce money through any of your effort!

Here’s the kicker! The original asset is not the first dollar you use to produce a new asset, the original asset is YOU! And now is the best time to get your assets in gear! The Real Estate Market is literally ON SALE and RIGHT NOW is the time to learn how to shop for the BEST deals you’ll see in our lifetime! Real Wealth (in any industry) has always been created in a down market and now YOU can learn how to do it for yourself!
